Group Addiction Therapy
Northstars Group Therapy is a special type of therapy involving two or more individuals who are being guided by a licensed therapist in a therapeutic discussion. This type of therapy builds social skills and helps individuals to develop trust and diminish feelings of isolation. At Northstar IOP we believe a combination of individual therapy and group therapy prepares our clients to continue their lives in a healthy more adaptable way to support their recovery. With this philosophy in mind, we provide nine hours of group therapy sessions weekly.

Intensive Outpatient Program in
Our unique method is to provide a diversity in types of groups such as emotional, physical, and social approaches to addiction recovery. Groups are built upon participation, bringing humor into the lives of our clients in a healthy way, and to teach effective social skills to assist clients in sustained recovery and personal growth. Group sessions provide opportunities for clients to develop communication skills with other clients, which is useful for individuals whose primary socializing in the past has revolved around drugs and alcohol. Northstar focuses on assuring a safe environment where clients can share openly, establish a support group within the community, and interact with other individuals who share their path in recovery.
